IT Tip: Set Chrome to Open PDFs in Adobe

You might be clicking more than needed to save a PDF from a website in Google Chrome.

 

To test, visit this page:  https://www.orimi.com/pdf-test.pdf.

 

If clicking the above link does not immediately open the PDF in Adobe, then do the following:

 

  1. At the bottom of your browser window, click the drop down arrow next to the download file, then click Always open with system viewer

 

 

  1. Now click the 3 dots settings icon in the top right of your browser window, then click Settings.

 

  1. Click Privacy and Security > Site Settings > scroll down to Additional Content Settings > click PDF documents

 

 

  1. Select Download the PDFs

 

 

Now close the Settings tab, and try https://www.orimi.com/pdf-test.pdf again.  The document should open in Adobe with just ONE click.
